Finding Articles on Off-Campus
Computers
- It is possible for students, faculty, and staff to access periodical
articles online from Tomlinson Library resources anytime, day
or night, from remote, off-campus computers.
- To use the Library´s licensed Indexes
and Databases from off-campus, you must
be a currently registered student, faculty, or staff.
- If you have a dial-up modem, log your remote computer on to
the Mesa State College network.
Computer setup and logon instructions are available here
and troubleshooting help is available from the main computer lab
staff in the Library building or by phone at 248-1885.
- If you are a registered student but don't have a network user
account, account setup is available in person at the main computer
lab (L121). Please bring a picture ID during regular business
hours.
- Once connected to the college network, your computer will be
recognized as an authorized station. Simply open a web browser
and go to the Indexes and Databases
page where you can access all the databases as if you were in
the actual library using one of our computers.
- For high speed access users who lack a dial-up modem or users
living outside the local Grand Junction calling area, we have
a remote access system that works with the
408 Library number from the bottom of your MavCard.
- If you are not sure which databases to use for your research
topic, we can advise you on that by phone at 248-1860 or via e-mail.
In many cases, articles on your subject can be located in one
of the full-text databases for immediate use.
