Library 212 Scheduling and Use
Policy
Library 212 is a unique technology-oriented instruction room that
was designed to support the specific needs of faculty and staff.
To ensure these needs are met, the following policies and procedures
are in effect:
Scheduling
Room 212 is scheduled by the Administrative Assistant in the
Library Director's office (phone 1406). All inquiries about
scheduling should be handled through that office. Scheduling
requests should be submitted as far in advance as possible.
Only users who have specific need of the technology in the room
may schedule the facility. The faculty or staff member who
is actually using the room should be the one requesting scheduling.
Students may not schedule the facility.
Room Capacity
25 Computer Stations with Seats, additional 5 seats for 30 maximum.
Prioritization of Access
1. Library Bibliographic and other Library Instruction
2. Distance Learning
3. Faculty and Staff Training
4. Short Term Use by Mesa State Classes
5. Non Academic Uses
Short Term Use by Classes
In order to have fair access for everyone, faculty who wish
to schedule the room for classes are in general limited to three
sessions per class over an entire semester.
Conflicts/Questions about Scheduling
The Library Director is the final arbiter in disputes about
scheduling and use policies of Library 212.
Use Policies
1. No food or drink is allowed in the room.
2. The user of the room is responsible for enforcing the no food
or drink policy during their session(s), and ensuring class participants
treat the facilities properly.
3. Before first use of the room, the user must contact Media
Services for an orientation and training session. This session
takes about a half hour.
4. Media Services is responsible for maintaining the equipment
in the room. If you need assistance, please contact Media
Services for help. Do not change, remove or modify any equipment
in the room without permission.
5. If the user has special requirements for the computers in
the room, such as special software or network access requirements,
Academic Computing should be contacted in advance of the use of
the room. Nothing should be loaded on any of the computers
without permission.
6. L 212 is kept locked for security reasons. The Administrative
Assistant in the Director's office or Media Services will unlock
the doors for users. If neither are available, any staff
member may unlock the door after confirming the individual is
scheduled on the master schedule in the Director's office.
7. There is no fee for using L 212, but anyone using the audio
conferencing system long distance must use their own access code.
8. Upon completion of activity, the user should notify the Administrative
Assistant in the Director's office or Media Services that they
are finished so the door can be secured. If neither is available
then the Circulation Desk or Reference Desk should be notified.
