Policy for Public Use of Internet
Computers
The public computer terminals with Internet access in the Tomlinson Library are for the use of currently registered students, college staff, and faculty. Be prepared to show campus ID. The general public is welcome to use these computers subject to the following restrictions:
- NON-STUDENT USERS ARE LIMITED TO 1 HOUR PER DAY.
- Computers are provided for research purposes and for accessing Library materials. Recreational use is not allowed. Word processing software is not provided.
- Display of images that create a visibly hostile environment
is prohibited.
- Downloading and/or uploading to the individual computer is prohibited. No software may be installed on these machines by any users.
- Printing for the general public is ten cents per page.
Deposit money in the strongbox to the left of the printer AT THE
TIME THE PRINTOUT IS MADE. Change is available at the Circulation
Desk.
- During high demand times, non-student users may be asked to
relinquish use of computer stations.
Failure to observe these rules will result in the loss of an individual’s computer privileges. General public users with extended research projects can request an additional hour of Internet use at the Reference Desk. Please address any questions about this Policy to the Library Director’s office (L-102). Thank you for your cooperation.
