Welcome to the Mesa State College Student Orientation Program!

Step 1:  Sign up for the College Opportunity Fund

  • Colorado residents are encouraged to sign up for the College Opportunity Fund (COF) if you haven't already. This can reduce the amount you have to pay for tuition and fees by using your state benefit.  You can access the website from home at www.mesastate.edu/cof.

Step 2:  Login to MAVzone

  • Go to www.mesastate.edu
  • Choose the MAVzone button located in the maroon line
  • Enter your Username and Password.  Your Username should be on an insert in your Orientation packet.  Your original password is your birth date, MMDDYY.
  • Password Expired.  Enter your new unique password.  It must be at least eight characters, and alphanumeric.
  • Click on the Students Tab
  • Under Registration Tools click on Add or Drop Classes
  • Mesa State Emergency Warning System - Please read the orange box and if you want to participate, enter your name, phone number, and carrier.
  • Click on Opt-in/Info Correct (located underneath the box) or Remove Listing/Do Not Add.
  • Select the Registration Term and Submit
  • The next page is more information about COF just click on submit to continue
  • Select the Registration Term again and Submit.  The page should read "Add/Drop Classes."  If it doesn't, please raise your hand for help.
  • Close the window. 

Step 3:  Authorize your College Opportunity Fund at MSC

  • Click on the Students tab
  • Under "Accounts" click on the COF Stipend Authorization
  • Select "I choose to Authorize" if you would like to take advantage of the COF stipend.  If you choose to decline, your tuition bill will be higher.
  • Click on submit.  This will save your changes and take you back to the Authorization page.  It will say that your changes have been submitted.
  • Close the window. 

Step 4:  Print your Program Sheet

  • Choose your students tab
  • Look under Registration Publications
  • Click on Program of Study with Links to Major Requirements
  • Print a copy of your 2009-2010 Program Sheet.  They are listed in alphabetical order with the Associates, Certificates, & WCCC program sheets at the bottom.   If you are having trouble locating your program sheet please raise your hand for assistance. 

Step 5:  Exit MAVzone and join your group leader for your Advising Session

  • Exit out of your MAVzone account by clicking the Logout button in the upper right hand corner.
  • Collect your papers and packets and join your orientation group.
