BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION PROCESS
|
|
Eligibility
|
| The business plan competition is open to all Mesa State College students from all schools and majors. Recent graduates (within the past 12 months) are also eligible if the business plan was written while a student. |

Business Plan Competition Application Process
|
- Prepare a business plan for a new venture in Western Colorado using a commonly accepted business plan format containing at a minimum the following major components:
- cover sheet detailing name of business, your name, and contact information,
- table of contents,
- executive summary,
- business description,
- marketing plan,
- management plan, and
- financial plan.
If you need help writing a business plan, an abundance of helpful links are available at the Centers home page - http://www2.mesastate.edu/sbps/dixson/. One particularly helpful site is the Small Business Administration - http://www.sbaonline.sba.gov/starting/indexbusplans.html.
- Submit the business plan as per the following timeline:

Competition Timeline

- Several finalists will be chosen from those submitting business plans. Should you be selected as a finalist, you will be asked to give a 15 minute presentation of your business plan to a hypothetical group of investors

Competition Award
|
| Two business plans will be recognized for outstanding achievement and will receive $250 each. The awards will be presented at a public luncheon in the Spring. |
