Athletic Training

Athletic Training Faculty

Our athletic training education program is supported by Western Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. The Medical Director for our program is Dr. Michael Reeder, DO, FACEO who also serves as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and is a Team Physician. Our team physicians/orthopedic surgeons are Dr. Mitchell Copeland, DO, and Dr. Larry Copeland, D.O., FAOAO, FACOS (Head Team Physician). All three physicians conduct regular clinics at the college and teach several in-service sessions for our athletic training program. Dr. Reeder teaches HPWA 430 Medical Conditions and Pharmacology (3 credit hours) for our academic curriculum. We also benefit from the services of a team chiropractor, Dr. Terry L. Sweet from Grand Junction Chiropractic.
