Master of Business Administration
Admission Requirements for International Students

Admission to the MBA program is open to anyone holding a bachelor's degree, in any field of study, from an accredited institution. Students must complete all of the following requirements in order to be considered:

1. A completed MBA application.

2. Typed essay explaining how/why you will be a successful student in the Mesa State College MBA program.

3. Applicants are required to submit official copies of all undergraduate and graduate transcripts translated into English (candidates must have received a 3.0 or equivalent on their last 60 credit hours of undergraduate course work).

4. The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is required unless the applicant has previously completed the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) within the last four years.

In addition to the above admission requirements, international students must also submit the following items:

  • An official bank statement showing proof of funds for at least $18,000 in U.S. Dollars only to cover the first year's expenses, if single. If married and/or have dependents, students must show proof of an addition $2000 per dependent. Amounts displayed in other currencies must be converted to US Dollars by a bank official.

  • An affidavit of financial support must accompany the bank statement. To print off a copy of this document please click here, or one can be mailed by request. *The signature on the financial support document must be identical to the name on the bank statement. If a student has more than one source of financial support, a financial support document must be filled out by each source.

  • A Transfer Verification form completed by the appropriate official at the previous institution (if transferring from another school).

  • Proof of Immunization--set of shots including Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) signed by a physician. This is required for all students born on or after January 1, 1957.

  • Proof of health insurance with a clear expiration date. (You may either send a copy of your insurance card or purchase insurance from Mesa State College on your arrival to the US).

  • Official College transcripts showing degree earned and date conferred with English certified translations from each college attended (if applicable). A transcript is only considered "official" if imprinted with the issuing institution's official seal.

  • English proficiency requirement: If not from a country where English is the primary language, students must submit ONE of the following items:
    -Minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 207 (computer-based)
    -Minimum IELTS score of Band 7
    -Minimum ESPT SAT II test score of 963
    -Minimum Michigan Language test score of 80
    -Minimum ACT ESL test score at discretion of MBA Director

  • A $50 non-refundable application fee paid in US Dollars only to Mesa State College.

*Full admission cannot be granted until the Graduate Office has received all of these materials.
