PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Prior to taking courses at Mesa State College, a student must
apply and be accepted to the college through the Admissions
Department at Mesa. When you are ready to apply to the BSN
program, you must send the Registrar's
Office the form on the bottom of the summary page of the
BSN application, whether or not you have attended other colleges.
The following non-nursing, general requirement and prerequisite
courses must be completed prior to beginning the BSN program (the
numbers in parentheses indicate the credit hours a student earns
upon completion of the course). See Pre-BSN

**BIOL 209/209L, BIOL 210/210L, and BIOL 241 must have been
completed within five years prior to applying to the nursing program.
A student who is taking one of these courses at the time of application
must secure and submit a Request
for Grade form by the application deadline. If you are taking
one of these courses at another institution it is recommended
that you let your instructor know at the beginning of the course
that you will require a projected grade by the application deadline.
Once the student has been accepted into the nursing
program, they must complete the following courses in sequence.
Each level represents one semester. Presently, the nursing courses
are not offered during the summer. (Returning RNs and LPNs, refer
to notes below.)

Returning RNs must take all the non-nursing, prerequisite courses,
as well as the following nursing courses: first fall semester:
NURS300, NURS302; first spring semester: NURS202/202L, NURS312;
second fall semster: NURS403/403L, NURS415; second spring semester:
NURS411/411L, NURS407, NURS496.
LPNs must take all the courses, both non-nursing and nursing,
except NURS 201/201L. Also, LPNs are required to obtain IV
certification prior to application to the nursing program.
