PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
The following non-nursing prerequisites and general education
courses must be completed prior to acceptance into the LPN to
AAS in Nursing program. The numbers in parentheses indicate the
credit hours a student earns upon completion of the course.

NOTE: All general education requirements are waived for
those students who have previously earned a Baccalaureate of Arts
or Science. General education requirements are waived for those
students who have previously earned an Associate of Science or
Arts degree, with the exception of the KINA courses. (This does
not include either an Associate of Applied Science, or an Associate
in General Studies.)

**BIOL 209/209L, BIOL 210/210L, and BIOL 241 must have been completed
within five years prior to applying to the nursing program.
*** This course is counted with general education courses, but
is a prerequisite for the LPN to AAS in Nursing program.
NOTE: If the student
completed any of the program (core) requirements at a school other
than Mesa State College, please send copies of course descriptions
for these courses along with your transcripts so that we may evaluate
their transferability. If the student completed any of the general
education requirements at another school, the student should request
a transcript evaluation from the
Registrar's Office at Mesa State College.
We encourage all students to apply, but be aware that students
are admitted contingent upon their passing a criminal background
investigation that is conducted at the expense of the applicant.
