Theatre Department

Opportunity...... Personal
Development...... Professional Training
These are the advantages that year after year draw
the most serious theatre students to the Mesa State College Theatre
Program. Our mission is to prepare students for careers in theatre
and from your first day on campus there are abundant opportunities
for you to gain the experience you need to take your place in
the American Theatre scene. Our training is multi-discipline and
intense and students have responsibilities in every aspect of
production. As a moderate-sized department, young artists are
guaranteed individualized instruction from our professional staff.
To the disciplined and focused student, our balanced academic
and performance curriculum offers the finest course work available.
Our graduates are using their Mesa training on stages from New
York to Los Angeles to Tokyo. The Program maintains fully equipped
theatrical facilities including a new black-box theatre slated
for completion Fall of 2002. Team these with productions of celebrated
quality and hands-on experience, and you will find the Mesa State
College Theatre Program to be exceptional theatre training in
a liberal arts setting here in the beauty of the Colorado Rocky
Mountains.
