A female-driven perfomance set in the small town of Independence, Iowa, the lifelong home of Evelyn Briggs. Surrounded by her three daughters who have reunited over shared concerns for Evelyn’s mental health, these four strong women come to settle for an arbitrary sort of independence as they each realize that they must find
their own heaven-or hell - each in her
own way.


 

PRELUDE TO A KISS

Originally commissioned and produced in 1988, PRELUDE opened to rave reviews and universal appraise, catapulting it onto the Broadway stage with an all-star cast featuring performances by Timothy Hutton and Mary Louise-Parker. PRELUDE TO A KISS tells the tale of a recently married couple, Peter and Rita, who find themselves in an unusual and mysterious predicament when Peter comes to realize that it his young bride’s body is no longer inhabited by her true soul, but rather that of an elderly man who appeared at their wedding and requested a kiss from the bride.
