Mass Communications
Our main goal in the program is to offer students an opportunity
to develop the knowledge, theory and skills that will assist them
in securing employment in the broad field of mass communications.
The Bachelor of Arts degree provides four concentration areas:
Media News & Editorial; Broadcasting; Public Relations; and
Print Media. The requirements include 48 hours for a major, and
24 hours for a minor.
Humanities Building
The Humanities and Social Sciences Building is part of the capital
plan to expand the campus and to accommodate the growing student
body. The new building houses Fine Arts, Graphic Arts and Mass
Communication and includes Macintosh computer labs, a digital
audio production lab, television studio, digital video editing
suites, a Mass Communication Library, classrooms, and faculty
offices on the third floor.
MSC's
program is large enough to offer more than two dozen courses,
yet small enough to provide individualized instruction. A glance
at the Alumni News Notes shows that many of our recent graduates
are successfully working in mass media and related careers that
are challenging and rewarding.
