Associate Professor Byron Evers

MSC Director of Mass Communication, teaches mainly news/editorial,
print media and photography courses. He is faculty adviser
for the Horizon student magazine. He has experience as a
former newspaper editor, photographer, and public relations
director at Oklahoma speedways in Tulsa and Muskogee. He
has 27 years of full-time teaching experience at universities
and colleges. Evers completed his Master's degree in Mass
Communications at Murray (Ky.) State University, and has
more than 60 hours of PhD courses at the University of Oklahoma.
He has been with Mesa State since 1989.

Assistant Professor Dan Flenniken

Teaches public relations, advertising and television production
classes. Previously taught Media Technology at the Bishop
Campus. He has over 25 years in production and management
for television stations and networks including Rocky Mountain
PBS. He won an Emmy for educational television production
in 2002. Previously, he taught at State University of New
York -Plattsburgh and the University of Colorado. He has
been with Mesa State in mass communication since 2005.

Instructor Eric Sandstrom

Teaches writing/reporting, mass media impact and public affairs; serves as
faculty advisor for the Criterion newspaper. He has worked for newspapers in
Ohio, Illinois and Nebraska as a reporter, editor, photographer, columnist
and sportswriter. He taught journalism ethics at Kent State University, and
public relations at Cleveland State University. He was managing editor of
publications for University Hospitals Case Medical Center. He has a BA and
MA in English from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.

Assistant Professor Regis Tucci

Teaches broadcast communication courses and is faculty advisor
for KMSA-FM and MSC-TV. Undergraduate and graduate degrees
from Marshall University with doctoral courses from Bowling
Green State University. Research interest includes broadcast
history and international broadcast systems. Professional
experience in radio, television, public relations, and advertising.
He taught in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, and Mississippi
before coming to MSC in the fall of 1999.

Instructor Laurena Mayne Davis

Part-time lecturer who is public relations director for Community Hospital.
Currently teaching MASS 110, and previously taught writing and convergence
journalism when she was a full-time instructor. She was a Colorado Press
Association and Associated Press award winning features editor and reporter
at The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel. She has experience as a student
newspaper adviser, studied new technology at the Poynter Institute in 2005,
and completed her master's degree at Northern Arizona University.

Instructor Bill Haggerty

Teaches introductory and advanced classes in news writing,
feature writing, and PR web page content design. He is also
faculty adviser to the student newspaper, Criterion. He
retired from Colorado Division of Wildlife as a Public Information
Specialist, and has been with MSC since 1999.

Lecturer Steven Huntley

Teaches Web Content Design, Desktop Publishing & Video Production for the internet.
Before coming to MSC Steve was the Senior Technical Producer for Paramount Pictures where he produced and directed the first web cast from the red carpet of the Academy Awards for Entertainment Tonight.
His 30+ year career in Hollywood found him as a Producer, Director, Camera Operator and Sound Engineer for such shows as The Super Bowl, The Emmy's, The Grammy's. 10 Bob Hope Specials and the COPS television show, to mention a few.
He is also the WebMaster at MSC and he loves his jobs! |

Partner in Multz, Salmon & Lipton Law Firm. Taught courses
at several institutions, including U.S. Air Force Academy.
JD Degree from University of Montana. Been with MSC since
1990.

Carries out secretarial duties for the Mesa State Fine
Arts Building at Mesa State, which includes the Mass Communication,
Art and Graphic Arts programs. She is available to answer
questions, unlock doors to rooms, and provide general information
about the building and departments. She can assist students
on registration, scheduling, major program sheets, documents,
etc. Her office is located on the second floor of the building
and her hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. She has been with MSC
since 2004.
