SUSAN E. BECKER

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, 1988; Ph.D. (Clinical
Psychology), University of Arizona, 1997. Dr. Becker´s research
interests include change processes and program evaluation. She
teaches courses in counseling, including Counseling Processes
and Group Processes.
BRUCE A. BISHOP
Assistant Professor of Psychology

B.A. (Political Science), Colorado State University, 1980; M.A.
(Clinical Psychology), University of Arizona, 1996; Ph.D. (Clinical
Psychology), University of Arizona, 2001. Prior to entering academia,
Dr. Bishop was an independent practitioner in psychotherapy and
psychological assessment. He remains active as a trainer in ASIST
(Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training). Dr. Bishops
research interests include resistance and non-adherence in treatment,
and processes of change in therapy. He teaches General (Introductory)
Psychology, Career Development, Psychological Interviewing, Abnormal
Psychology and Psychology of Personality.
CHRISTIAN J. BUYS
Professor of Psychology

B.A. (Psychology), Hope College, 1966; Ph.D. (Social Psychology),
University of Colorado, 1970. Dr. Buys´ research interests
include cross-cultural psychology, small group behavior, and Colorado
history. He has recently published several photographic history
books of Colorado. In addition to introductory psychology, he
teaches Social Psychology, Cross-Cultural Psychology, and Psychology
of Religion.
KAREN E. FORD
Professor of Psychology

Psychology), Northeast Louisiana University, 1976; Ph.D. (Experimental
Psychology), University of Mississippi, 1980. Dr. Ford teaches
General Psychology, Psychology of Learning, Psychology of Learning
Laboratory, Quantitative Research Methods, and Biopsychology.
Her research interests include animal learning and psychopharmacology.

MYRA D. HEINRICH
Professor of Psychology

B.S., 1971; M.A., 1975; Ph.D. (Experimental Psychology), University
of North Dakota, 1980. Dr. Heinrich´s research interests
center around memory and cognition and various topics in the areas
of psychology of women and sex comparisons. She teaches Human
Growth and Development, Child Psychology, Psychology of Women,
Experimental Psychology, Experimental Psychology Laboratory, and
Memory and Cognition. She is currently developing a course in
comparative psychology.
JESSICA HERRICK
Professor of Psychology

Psychology), 1994, The University of Wyoming. Dr. Miller´s
research interests include early childhood cognitive development
and special issues related to female athletes. She teaches Human
Growth and Development, Psychology of Adolescence and Young Adulthood,
Psychology of Adulthood, Sport Psychology, and General Psychology.
HARRY A. TIEMANN
Professor of Psychology

of Colorado; Ph.D. (Industrial/Organizational Psychology), Colorado
State University, 1973. Dr. Tiemann is currently conducting research
on jury selection, in addition to the use of social-psychological
principles in the court room. He teaches Systems and Theories
of Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Environmental
Psychology, Sensation and Perception, Topics in Psychology, and
Drugs and Human Behavior.
