Psychology Student Organizations
Mesa State College has a very active Psychology
Club and local chapter of the national honor society in psychology,
Psi Chi. The MSC chapter of Psi Chi was awarded the Rocky Mountain
Chapter Award for the best chapter in the Rocky Mountain region
in 1997. In 1998, the MSC chapter was awarded the Cousins National
Chapter Award for the chapter nationwide that best achieved Psi
Chi´s purposes. That same year the MSC faculty advisor for
Psi Chi was awarded the Denmark National Faculty Advisor Award.
Each spring the MSC Psi Chi Chapter organizes a
student trip to the Rocky
Mountain Psychological Association (RMPA) annual convention.
Numerous psychology students have presented posters and papers
at this professional meeting of psychologists. Several MSC students
have received Regional Research Awards from the
national Psi Chi office for their scholarly works.
