The Cultural Diversity Board strives to promote and support
the ethnic and cultural clubs on campus while providing on
campus educational support services to recruit and retain
minority students. CDB works to educate and serve as a cultural
conduit to the Mesa State campus and the Grand Valley community
regarding culturally diverse issues.
Over the past decade, CDB developed six cultural organizations:
Black Student Alliance
(BSA), Native
American Student Council (NASC), Polynesian
Club (Ho'olokahi),
International Student Union (ISU), La
Raza: Hispanic Club and PRIDE.
Each year CDB sponsors various events and activities geared
to different cultures and ethnic groups. Activities include
an elementary school contest and dinner, cultural presentations
to local businesses and organizations, Martin Luther King
Jr. celebration and Cultural Diversity Weekend for high school
students. CDB also sponsors a weeklong Unity Fest celebration
that showcases the different cultures represented on campus
and the ethnicities we pride ourselves in.
The Cultural Diversity Board is open to anyone who would
like to be part of the mission we have to promote diversity
on the Mesa State campus and the Grand Valley community.
