KMSA-FM is a student-managed and student-operated full-time radio station airing programming on a 24/7/365 schedule. KMSA-FM has had an alternative format since 1975 and prides itself on the variety of music aired. Specialty programs include Hip Hop, Techno, Electronic, Reggae, and Metal.

KMSA-FM provides opportunities for students to learn about and acquire behaviors demanded of the professional broadcaster. Members of KMSA-FM's Executive Staff are paid monthly salaries and in return are expected to manage their departments with skill and integrity.

All students are encouraged to become part of KMSA-FM, especially those who are majoring in Mass Communication, Business, Marketing, and Liberal Arts.
