Mesa State Residency Policy

Mesa State College has a required on campus residency policy. All freshman and sophomore students who are single, under 21 years of age and not residing with their parents in Mesa County are required to live on campus, provided that space is available. Any exceptions to this policy must be submitted to the Housing Office with appropriate documentation and then approved by the Director of Housing and Residence Life. Print and fill out the Request for Contract Release Form (pdf.doc).

To apply for housing, submit the Mesa State Housing application with a $150.00 deposit/application fee. $25.00 of this fee is a non-refundable application fee.

For those wanting specific, mutual roommates, please apply together, identifying the student's name on both applications.

Assignments are based on the date of receipt of the housing application, required deposit, application fee and the Student Housing and Dining Contract. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request. You do not have to be accepted to Mesa State College to apply for housing, but it is important to complete your undergraduate admission in a timely fashion.

Fall Semester

Housing assignments are made in June. You will receive an Assignment Newsletter in the mail. We will provide important information in the newsletter about move in, roommates and exciting news about Mesa State. We look forward to seeing you in August.

Spring Semester

The process is the same as above, except we will do assignments the first of December and contact you with your assignment for the upcoming spring semester. After that, you will be given your check in date and we will look forward you joining our Mesa State family in January.
