Frequently Asked Questions

What if I have problems with my MAVcard? There could be a number of reasons. Please bring your card to the MAVcard Office and we will diagnose the problem for you.
How do I take care of my MAVcard?
  • Do not place your MAVcard next to a drivers license, your MAVcard may be demagnetized.
  • Do not bend your MAVcard in any way.
  • Avoid exposing your MAVcard to excessive heat.
  • Do not put holes in your card, especially through one of the magnetic strips on the back of the card.
  • Do not run your card along rough surfaces, it may damage the magnetic stripes.
  • Treat your card with care, it is your 'key' to the Mesa State campus.
MSC MAVcard with your free Wells Fargo Checking Account off campus
As a partner with the MAVcard, Wells Fargo is offering all students, faculty and staff a free checking account and your MAVcard will be the debit card, able to be used at any Wells Fargo ATM as well as many local businesses around the Grand Valley and Colorado.
Do I need a new MAVcard every year?

No, your MAVcard will be valid as long as you are a current student or employee at Mesa State. The only reason you should get a new card is if your old card is lost, stolen, or damaged.
