How do I go about reserving a part of
the field for an activity or practice?
You must first receive permission from the Director
of Campus Recreation Services.
How difficult is it to get a field reserved?
Very difficult from February through October, due to the heavy
use by intercollegiate athletics.
Can my baseball team or softball team
use the varsity diamonds for a practice?
Absolutely not. If you are able to get permission, a grassy
area will be assigned to you.
Why is it difficult to get a field in
late May through July, when no athletic teams are in season?
This is the time of year that we try to allow the turf to
heal and grow. It is our goal to allow the turf to heal and
be strong for the fall practices and games of four intercollegiate
teams. Therefore, most all requests for field use during this
time period are turned down.
How can I find field space for my intramural
team to practice?
Check with the Director
of Intramural Sports. Many weekends are available on Bergman
Field for this purpose.
Where is the free parking for when I
come to play at the fields?
Except during the summer months (mid-May through mid-August),
permit parking is enforced in Parking Lot G1. Please check
with Parking
Services (248-1919) for enforcement days/times. Street
parking along 12th Street and Orchard Avenue is available
at no charge.
What should I do if I find all the field
gates locked?
Contact the Director
of Campus Recreation Services. Never climb the fence.
