What hours are the tennis courts open?
The outdoor courts are lighted until 11:00 p.m. nightly.
How many courts are there? Are they all
lighted?
All ten courts are lighted.
How do I turn the lights on?
The lights for courts 9 and 10 come on and go off automatically.
There is a push button switch on the Eastern most light posts
for lighting of courts 1 through 8. The timer is set for 60-minute
increments. Once the lights turn off, it takes a minimum of
ten minutes for the lights to come back on.
Do you provide tennis rackets or balls
for checkout?
No. At this time we do not provide any tennis equipment for
rental or sale.
Must I reserve a court in advance?
No. Since the courts are open for general public play, there
is no advanced reservation system. Only academics, athletics,
and the GJTC may reserve courts.
Where is the free parking for when I
come to play at the tennis courts?
Except during the summer months (mid-May through mid-August),
permit parking is enforced in Parking Lot G1. Please check
with Parking
Services (248-1919) for enforcement days/times. Street
parking along 12th Street and Orchard Avenue is available
at no charge.
What should I do if I find all the gates
locked?
Contact the Director
of Campus Recreation Services. Never climb the fence.
