Questions About Wellness Office

What does the Wellness Office do?
We help students, faculty, and staff improve their physical fitness by conducting fitness assessments, educating them about the results, and then prescribing an exercise program.

What is the assessment like?
A series of four very easy physical tests including walking on a treadmill, a sit and reach, grip strength, and measuring body fat with a caliper or measuring tape.

What does the assessment and prescription cost?
For students the cost varies from $2 to $18 depending upon the level of the assessment. For benefits eligible faculty and staff the cost is $5 for the entire process, which includes your membership to the Student Recreation Center for one year. This program is subsidized by the college as an employment benefit for employees.

How do I schedule an assessment?
Just contact the Intramural Office at 248-1591 and we will give you an enrollment form and discuss your level of involvement needed.
