ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

POSITION TITLE: Industrial Process Control Technology Instructor

DURATION OF CONTRACT: 185 day, full-time

EXPECTED STARTING DATE: Est. August 12, 2008

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The instructor in this position is responsible for teaching college classes in Industrial Process Control Technology and assisting with secondary courses. Duties include teaching, curriculum development, working with student organizations, scheduling, lab and equipment maintenance, ordering of supplies and equipment, assisting in student advising, recruitment and placement, and other duties as assigned.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, revision of course syllabi, distance education program delivery, program promotion activities, student internship coordination and development, college committees, and other departmental duties as assigned. Must be willing to accommodate a flexible instructional format that can include daytime, evening, and weekend instruction.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: AAS in Electrical, Electronics, or Process Control. Thorough background in basic electronics including: passive DC/AC, analog and digital circuits.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: background in process control including: instrumentation, programmable logic controllers, motor control circuits, temperature, pressure, flow, level control and associated physics. Knowledge of 3 phase power. Teaching experience a plus.

SALARY: Salary commensurate with education and experience.
